I had the opportunity to come onboard as a DMS supervisor for Star Wars: The Last Jedi at ILM. Originally, we were only going to have a couple of artists working closely with the Environments team but the show wound up growing for our department due to the sheer amount of work needed. The Vancouver team was responsible Mega Star Destroyer Hangar Bay, multiple ships, props and the Porgs.
Andrew Hodgson was the first main model artist for the DMS team. He worked alongside the talented Generalist team to help deliver a stellar environment. Other artists on the DMS team such as Ricardo Bonisoli, Darrell Abney, Yann Goument and Brian Giacoppo worked on a bunch of assets and did a great job. I still had the chance to work on a couple of assets while supervising. It was great to be involved to help the asset team as well as help Art Direct certain key assets.
